Reports from Mission UK 2000 (Week 1)

During week 1 (2000/10/07-10), Julie ministered in South Wales.

First Week: South Wales, UK

Sunday (Oct. 8), Julie preached at Bethel Community Church in South Wales and in a church in the Rhondda Valley of South Wales, at Peniel AoG, Abertillery.  In the evening service, a woman who was experiencing severe burning pain over the right side of her face was instantly and dramatically healed.  A man was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and others were set free from mental and emotional affliction as Julie prayed.  Julie was accompanied by Carol Burstow, a National Executive of the Assemblies of God Women's Ministries.  Carol is also the Field Representative for Young Ministry Group in Great Britain.  She provided support in the scheduling and prayer.

Pastor's Letters

Julie with Pastoral Staff in Newport, South Wales"her delivery of the Word was wonderful.  Julie used the gift of prophecy with power and God was able to touch lives through her... a man who came to our church for the first time, a very hard person, accepted the Lord as his Saviour; I've known this man for many years, it was great to see.

"The evidence of God given ministry is in the signs that follow.  I pray God will continue to anoint her so that many souls will be saved.

"I would welcome Julie Young back to the church any time she is in the UK"

Pastor Paul Cleverly
Bethel Church
Newport
South Wales

"We were inspired and blessed by Julie's ministry, both in song and the preaching of the gospel.  Julie spoke on 'The Power of the Cross' and radiated a quiet assurance in the Living God, and showed real compassion and humility in her ministry.  Many came for prayer and Julie spoke a timely prophetic word."

A Healing Verified

"I am very happy to testify to a healing I received without being aware that it had taken place.  Three ladies from our church in Sussex accompanied Carol Burstow [YMG Field Representative for the UK] to the Assemblies of God National Area Day for Women.  With Carol was Julie Young and we traveled to Hirwaun in Wales for the meetings on the 6 and 7 October.  After dinner at the hotel, Carol suggested that we have a time of fellowship in her room.  It gave us the opportunity to know each other better and to get to know Julie more personally.

"Towards the end of the time together Julie said she wanted to pray for Margaret, then me...  Apart from falling back on the bed I was not aware that anything happening to me.  I felt a newness in my spirit.

"It was several days later that I realised that I hadn't used the Bi-carb which I always kept in a glass in the kitchen.  I said to my husband a couple of times, 'You know, I think I've been healed.' Two days later I decided to find out, so I stopped my medication.  I had suffered for over 30 years from digestive disorders -- heartburn, bloating, and flatulence which kept me awake a lot at night.  I had a very poor sleeping pattern.  I was diagnosed as having a hiatus hernia and a stricture.

"Well, it is over two weeks now since I stopped the medication and I have had no digestive problems and I sleep like a top.  I praise the Lord for healing me and give him all the glory.  I could virtually eat nothing without discomfort before this.  I am 77 years old."

Harvest Time

Julie at Harvest Time School of EvangelismOn Monday morning (Oct. 9), Julie met Welsh evangelist Marilyn Harry at the Harvest Time Missions Centre in Newport, Gwent, South Wales.  Last year Marilyn and her staff set up tent missions throughout the UK, in Europe, and in Africa.  Julie was invited to address the 1st session of students in the 16 week evangelism course.  God poured out His blessings on the students, staff, and visitors.

Letters

"It was a great blessing to have Julie Young with us for our National Area Day in South Wales (Oct. 7).  Her prophetic input into ladies lives was awesome ...  I appreciated her fellowship and sensitive ministry into my own life.  Thank you, Julie.

Julie with Marjorie Watkins, AoG WMs Regional Director"... Julie ministered at Bethel AoG Church, Newport (Oct. 8), where she... was so much in tune with what the Holy Spirit was already saying.  The prophetic word again ministered into so many and two people made commitments to the Lord."

"Harvest Time School of Evangelism based at Newport invited Julie to speak to the students on Monday (Oct. 9).  Julie spoke from personal experience and with great passion concerning evangelism, and prayed for each student and the teaching staff with a great prophetic anointing.  I am sure it will be a day the students will not forget."

Marjorie Watkins,
Regional Director, South Wales, Assemblies of God Women's Ministries.
